An original throwback act extraordinaire. Dave Lang with his band of talented musicians from Victoria joined with a pseudo Portuguese drummer, brought me back to a time where upright bass was as bountiful as the smoke filled rooms you'd expect to find them in.
A very original sound, with a smooth saxophone, catchy guitar progressions, and groove bound bass kept the audience captivated while Dave told witty stories about the day to day tribulations, many of which he admits never actually experiencing (like a bad relationship for example).
Unfortunately I had to leave early to make a prior engagement, but when Dave comes back to Creston I look forward to taking in the full show. Talented, smart, an all round enjoyable concert. If you have the chance, check them out.
